We are a husband and wife team based out of our home in Austin, Texas. We first started making soy candles in November 2002 and were soon amazed at how great they smelled and how long they lasted. Christy was especially surprised that she didn't get headaches from them. And once we learned all the disadvantages of paraffin candles versus the benefits of soy candles, we were hooked. Finally, after several months of experimentation with scent, color, and design we launched our business in April 2003.
Christy, the candle maker, has a studio art degree from The University of Texas, which helped instill in her an utmost attention to detail and emphasis on aesthetics. Her husband, Garland, has more than 20 years experience in the restaurant business and is very outgoing and affable. He provides invaluable support as our primary sales and marketing force. At Soy Delites, not only do we strive to provide you with an incredibly aromatic product, but we are also committed to giving you a visually stimulating and beautiful experience.
